TANNING PREP INSTRUCTIONS
Our
Custom UV Free Tan applications are the safest and most effective way to
achieve the dark tan you’ve always desired. If you are looking to darken
your existing color, clear up tan lines, special events or a fast “off the
beach” tan, this is the best option.
We use the latest technology from FakeBake™ to insure the best application
possible, with 2 different color ranges for you to choose from and a full line
of sunless products that match all of our custom colors. FakeBake™ will not leave you with
an unpleasant odor, streaks, or “orange” color.
A certified technician will consult with you during the process and advise
a color that would best match your current skin tone. If you are an existing
Custom Bronze client no worries! We know the last color you’ve used to
insure the most natural looking tan possible.
If you have any questions about the process or any of our sunless products
please feel free to call us. Listed below are special instructions for before
your Custom Bronze Application; you will be provided with after care
information after your session.
·
Shower and exfoliate your entire body thoroughly. Spend a little extra
time on knees, elbows, feet and hands.
·
Shave all desired areas 6 to 8 hours prior to your appointment. It is
best that your appointment be 24 hours after any waxing.
·
Do NOT apply moisturizers, deodorants, antiperspirants, oils, perfumes,
colognes, or makeup to your skin after you shower as they can create a barrier,
preventing the absorption of the tanning solution and effecting the tan
development.
·
Remove makeup, contact lenses, eyeglasses and jewelry.
·
Wear a dark snug fitting bathing suit (or your garment of preference)
to tan in. The solution washes out of most clothing very easily, but tends to
stain light nylon and other light synthetic materials.
·
Wear dark, loose clothing and loose shoes to your appointment.
·
Do not wear white clothing or tight jeans. Do not wear wool, Lycra,
spandex, nylon or silk during or after your spray tan application as those
materials may stain.
·
Schedule your hair or nail appointments prior to your spray tan
appointment.
·
Tell your tan technician if you have never used a product containing
DHA (commonly found in sunless tanners). If you are unsure if you are allergic
to DHA, ask for a patch test.
·
Pull your hair back if necessary
·
Be advised if we are expecting rain, bring an umbrella!

TANNING AFTERCARE INFORMATION
DO
wait 6 to 12 hours after your tan appointment to shower.
DO
moisturize twice a day, after you bath and again before bed.
DO
pat your skin dry.
DO
drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated.
DO
remember to wear extra protection in the sun.
DO
NOT moisturize until after your first shower.
DO
NOT use any acne products including retinoids the day after your tan.
DO
NOT swim for 6 to 12 hours after your tan appointment. Chlorine and salt water
may dry your skin and cause your sunless tan to fade faster.
DO
NOT exfoliate for at least 48 hours. When you do exfoliate, remember to do so
gently and evenly to preserve an even, sunless tan.
DO
NOT wear tight fitting clothing or jewelry for 6 to 8 hours after your tan.
DO
NOT sit directly on leather or light fabric seats or furniture after your tan.
DO
NOT take long hot baths. This can accelerate exfoliation and fade your tan.
DO
NOT exercise or get wet until after your post tan shower. Excessive
perspiration can hinder the tanning process.
DO
NOT use lotions with Alpha Hydroxy Acids, as their purpose is to increase
exfoliation.
The
following may have an effect on your tan:
Waxing,
hair inhibiting lotions or creams, depilatory hair removers
Body
hair bleaching, Retin-A, Renova, Tri-Luma and Skin bleaching products
Acne
or skin products containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy
acid (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), malic or lactic acid
Products
containing alcohol or witch hazel
Microdermabrasion,
facial scrubs, masks and peels
Loofahs,
loofah gloves or exfoliating products
Body
moisturizers or shower gels that contain petroleum or mineral oil bases
Soaking
in salt water, chlorine or hot baths can rapidly exfoliate your tan.
Some
users have found that Dove products may fade a spray tan.
Please
be aware:
A
women's tan may also develop differently during various hormonal changes
(ovulation, menstruation, pregnancy). It may be streaky, patchy, fade worse, or
produce lighter color.
People
with oily skin tend to develop a lighter tan then people with dry skin. The
oils can coat the skin; dry skin absorbs more product faster.
Please
remember that everyone's skin type is different. The above products may not
harm your tan at all, where as it may make someone else's fade faster.
Don’t
worry if you see color washing off after your 1st shower ~ it is a
cosmetic bronze color to assist in the most even application.
